Once a month we pack lunches to take to BTAC. We've also held several "Rock for BTAC" fundraisers. BTAC provides emergency aid to families and individuals for whom no other public or private resources are immediately available. Such aid may include food, shelter, transportation, clothing and other goods or services.

Our congregation has volunteered to be a host congregation to support homeless families in the local area. Family Promise helps mobilize communities to provide safe shelter, meals, and support services for homeless families and through programs designed to redress the underlying causes of homelessness. |

A young girl in Zimbabwe was badly burned by an exploding stove. Her situation was told to our congregation, and several church members began immediately to come to her aid. With the help of Mending Kids who arranged her travel, and one of our church families acting as hosts, Maka and her mother Alice were brought to Los Angeles so Maka could receive treatment. Several times a year members of our congregation prepare meals for the the residents. Ronald McDonald house provides families of sick children with safe, welcoming lodging minutes away from their hospitalized child.

Twice a year members of our congregation join with other churches to go to Tijuana to build houses. Sometimes they spend a night; other times, it's a day trip. Project Mercy, based in San Diego, arranges these trips. Click for more pictures.

Each year members of the congregation walk at a park in Burbank to help the cause of cancer research. The youth and leaders spend the night and staff our church's booth at the event. Walkers are asked to walk for as long as possible during the 24 hour relay, always keeping at least one team member on the track for the duration. Click for more pictures.

Each year we have a fundraiser evening called "Night of Discovery." A gourmet dinner and magnificent entertainment precede a program. In past years we've had program speakers from BTAC, Operation Iraqi Children and Mending Kids. All donations at this event go directly to the respective charity.

Each Thanksgiving, members of our congregation donate food for needy families in the Burbank area. |

Ornaments specifying different foods are hung on one of our Christmas trees. Members and friends remove an ornament from the Angel Tree and return to church with that item, placing it under the tree. Baskets are assembled and taken to needy families. |

December 2009, we held a "Fair Trade" Winterfest. Venders brought in goods made by workers around the world where they received fair wages in positive work conditions. We bought beautiful items for ourselves and for Christmas gifts, knowing that we were helping third world people make decent livings. Fellowship, free food and entertainment, all for a good cause. |

Disciples Mission Fund is the common fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). As part of this denomination, our church contributes to this fund each year. This fund supports 72 ministries of wholeness as close as our local congregation and reaching around the globe - especially during times of disaster such as the hurricane Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti.

For many years, our congregation has supported the scouting programs. Not only do the scouts hold meetings here, but also many of our members are/have been leaders.

The National Night Out is a nationwide one-night rally where citizens and law enforcement personnel join forces to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Each year our church participates by providing free food and entertainment in our neighborhood. Officers and vehicles from the Burbank Police and Fire Departments attend and provide information.

Teaming with local Lions Clubs, we collect used eyeglasses which are prepared to give to those in need - locally, nationally and internationally.

A number of church members and their friends and relatives knit and crochet rectangles which are then mailed to HAP. Afghans are assembled and given to those who are wounded in service to our country.
